Countdown: The 11th Hour is Here

Where did the time go?!

Today we're going to briefly discuss, what most Christians do not think about, and that is—time. If everyone would take a moment and ponder over how much time you have spent on earth, compared to how much time you have left on earth, I believe the majority of you would spend your time a lot wiser than you are presently spending your time. Most people are so caught up into today’s traditions, trends and fashions that a lot of individuals don’t realize that our time here on earth is very limited. You have today, for yesterday is now in the past, and tomorrow is not certain.

If you knew you only had thirty days left to live, how would you spend those thirty days? Would the long line at the supermarket really matter?! Would that new leather coat or suede shoes really make a difference?! Can you take that luxury vehicle to heaven?! Would all of the hustle and bustle and the ripping and running make your last thirty days more memorable?! Would the grudge you are holding against your friend or family member be more acceptable or pleasing to our heavenly Father?! I don’t think those situations would matter to you at all. I believe most sincere Christians would focus on three areas:

First. Developing and maintaining a relationship with our heavenly Father. It’s time to stop saying, “Oh, yes I’m a Christian,” and then raise havoc Monday-Saturday. It’s time to pick up your Bible and study our heavenly Father’s word, instead of waiting for your favorite television show to come on. It’s time to develop that relationship with our heavenly Father. On that great day of judgment the last statement you want to hear from our heavenly Father is, “I never knew you.” In order for him to know you, you have to develop a relationship with him. By praying to him, by conversing with him, by keeping his commandments and by walking in the light, that is—in spirit and in truth.

Second. Have a relationship with yourself and be honest regarding your short-comings. Some individuals appear to be so proper, prosperous, elegant, and upright to the point that there certainly can’t be any short-comings with them. This is by all means, far from the truth. Some individuals appear to have it all together; however, in the inside they are hurting, angry, manipulative, dishonest, or vengeful. It is only when you develop a relationship with yourself that you can develop an honest relationship with others.

Finally, a healthy relationship with others. A lot of individuals have developed unhealthy relationships with family members and other acquaintances, to the point where they tolerate the person; avoid the person; constantly disagree with the person; or constantly agree with the person in an effort to make peace. But who is at peace? In order to have a relationship with others you must first have a relationship with Yahweh, being completely honest with yourself, and your feelings, will let the light shine through you, as you develop and maintain your relationship with others.
Let us take a moment and read Revelation 4:11, it states, “Thou art worthy, O LORD, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Our heavenly Father created all things for his pleasure, to give honour, glory, and power to him and him only. Our heavenly Father never expected his children to slave twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. He wanted us to enjoy our short time here on earth, while performing all things that are acceptable and pleasing to him.

A lot of Christians have a difficult time with that statement because they have followed the traditions of man and have performed duties and practices that are acceptable to the traditions of man. However, Yahweh’s word has never changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Spend your time wisely, for we are all spiritual beings, having a human experience. Trust in our heavenly Father and let him guide your footsteps accordingly.

May Jesus Bless you and keep you.
