Remember the Month Abib
The Gathering of God’s People
Exodus 12:42, “It is a night to be much
observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt:
this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their
generations:”
Exodus 13:4; 9, “This day came ye out in the
month Abib. And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a
memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with
a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.”
Exodus 34:18, “…for in the month Abib thou
camest out from Egypt.”
Deuteronomy 16:1, “Observe the month of
Abib, and keep the Passover unto the LORD thy God: for in the month of Abib the
LORD thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.”
Biblically speaking we know that
God wanted the children of Israel
to remember and observe the month Abib. And when the Bible makes reference to Egypt it is
referring to the literal country and also spiritual Egypt, the place of bondage. We
know from scripture that God’s people are spiritually in a place of bondage
until our Lord and Savior Jesus returns.
When we look at prophecy and/or
the events of the Bible sometimes people are looking for obvious signs, instead
of looking at what our heavenly Father has done in the past. Jesus is the Alpha
and the Omega, the beginning and the end. The same today, yesterday and
tomorrow; therefore, the events of our heavenly Father will not deviate from
prior history. What do we know from history—it repeats itself.
If we are really focusing on the
written Words of our Father and applying them for today; we know from scripture
that the month Abib (which is the middle of March-through the middle of April)
is a time to remember. We know from scripture that Passover is a night of
watching. It is the only night where God passed through. The month Abib is the only month our Father said to observe. He
did not tell us to observe any other month or establish our own months to
observe (Ramadan, Black History Month), —our Father said to observe the month Abib.
Luke 16:15 Jesus says, “…For that which is
highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”
Christians who live according to
the Epistles of Paul will not see this month as relevant; however, we must all
be careful not to dismiss what our heavenly Father has stated. Remember the
month Abib. Our heavenly Father has sent us instructions and Paul has given us
letters. We must be clear about the two. To put it another way, for all those parents
reading, do you want your children to live according to your instructions and rules or would you rather have them live
according to a letter from a friend.
It’s time for all of us to step
back and take inventory on who we’re listening to, who we are really following
and why? Sadly, a lot of Christians are living according to Paul and not
according to Jesus. Paul is not the One you must pass in order to enter through
the heavenly gates—Jesus is. Paul has not gone to prepare a place for you—Jesus
has. Paul did not lay down his life for you—Jesus did. Paul did not die for
your sins—Jesus did. Paul did not resurrect from the dead—Jesus did. Paul did
not ascend into heaven—Jesus did.
Paul did great teachings in the
name of Jesus and with the Spirit of God; however, Jesus is the Messiah who
said, “Follow me.” We must remember
who—we—follow and who our Saviour really is…and it is not Paul.
John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I
know them and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall
never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
John 10:5, “And a stranger will they not
follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.”
John 8:47, “He that is of God heareth God’s
words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.”
Matthew 28:20, “Go ye therefore, and teach
all nations,…Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you:…”
Again, let’s follow the Words of
Jesus!
Now, when we look at how our
heavenly Father removed the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt
we can be certain that the same events will occur when He gathers His followers
out of Spiritual Egypt. Our Father tells us to watch the eve of Passover and to
remember the month Abib. We know that the children of Israel left Egypt after midnight in the month Abib.
Exodus 12:31, “And he (God) called for Moses and Aaron by night, and
said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children
of Israel; and go, serve the LORD…” and this verse reminds us of John 10:27, “My
sheep hear my voice…”
And we also know from Scriptures
that God sent angels to protect them. Exodus
19:4, God says, “Ye have seen what I
did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you
unto myself.”
When we look in our Strong’s
Concordance for the words “eagles’ wings” in Hebrew it means, to carry, lift up, made a way, protected.
We will not have to find a car, ship, or plane to get to our heavenly Father; He
will provide a way for His faithful followers. We must be ready, prepared and
watchful when that day arrives.
Luke 21:36, “Watch ye therefore, and pray
always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall
come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
There is absolutely no need to
debate on the word “rapture”. If you choose to refer to this event as the
rapture or the gathering of God’s people it really doesn’t matter for we know
through Scriptures, through the mouth of Jesus and through the Word of God in
the Old Testament that there is a gathering of God’s people.
Mark 13:27, “And then shall he send his
angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the
uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”
Isaiah 26:20, “Come, my people, enter thou
into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a
little moment, until the indignation be overpast.”
We know that God’s faithful
followers are protected during the time of His wrath. There are some that
believe this wrath is indeed the Great Tribulation and this is also why there
are post-tribulation believers. Most Christians conquer that faithful followers
are not appointed to the Wrath of God nor the Wrath of Lamb as stated in Revelation 6:16-17, “…Fall on us, and hide
us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the
Lamb: From the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
The faithful followers of Jesus
will be able to stand in that day for we will not be hiding as the kings, rich
men, and great men of the earth.
Luke 21:28, “And when these things begin to
come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth
nigh.”
Jesus’ faithful followers will
not be hiding, nor will they be fearful during this time. For our redemption is
near. This will be a time for us to lift up our heads, not go into hiding
because we are outta here!!!
The Scriptures do not really tell
us how long the Wrath of the Lamb lasts or how long God’s indignation (wrath) lasts.
Some believe it’s 3 ½ years based on Revelation
12 and some believe God’s Wrath is the Great Tribulation lasting 7 years. Isaiah 26:20 states, “…a little moment…”
but we really don’t know how long a little moment is. We do Satan continues for
3 ½ years based on Revelation 13:5; therefore, for him to continue he must at
some point already hold a position of power. Thus, we do know that we want to
be found worthy to escape as stated in Luke
21:36.
I do have my theory on the topic;
however, I do not want to dwell on theories, many pastors and teachers have
deceived many teaching on their perception of the Holy Scriptures mostly based
on a dream or how they feel. But rather I choose to relate my findings with
Scripture, supported by both the Old and New Testament.
Oftentimes, Christians state
their theories as law and do not focus on the real matter which is—to be found
worthy to escape. I don’t think anyone, if they have read the Holy Bible
concerning the Wrath of God, would want to be here for His wrath. There will be
a lot of death occurring from the 6th
Seal alone and that’s the Wrath of the Lamb.
Therefore, I think it behooves
the faithful believers to pray that we are found worthy to escape, and to
remember the eve of Passover as a night of watching, for it is the night our
Father took the children of Israel out of Egypt, and to always observe the
month Abib (mid March-mid April), which is the first month of the year for our
heavenly Father.
Exodus 12:1, “This month shall be unto you
the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.”
Exodus 13:14, “And it shall be when thy son
asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? That thou shalt say unto
him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the
house of bondage:”
There are many that will attempt
to put the gathering according to the ways of the world. According to our
seasons and our time. However, God is not on our time He is on His calendar.
His coming is not delayed, it does not coincide with the schedule of the NBA
Finals or certain players as some have proclaimed. It will be on His calendar
on His time according to His Will and we do know that our Father does not
change.
