Food for Thought
What if the people of the
Bible were the so-called African Americans? What if the people of the
Bible were the people that were enslaved in America? What if the
people of the Bible were the same people that were lynched in America
repeatedly? What if the people of the Bible are in fact the people
that police officers have had a field day with shooting? What if the
people of the Bible were the African Americans?
When it comes to the Holy
Bible there are certain verses that don't get too much attention. Or
shall I say they aren't pondered, or questioned. For instance,
Revelation 2:9, “I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty,
(but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they
are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.”
Hmm, that last verse
(paraphrasing), I know them that say they are Jews and are not. What
does that mean exactly? Who would portray themselves as Jews and are
not? Who is actually saying they are Jews? And just to remind you,
the book of Revelation is the book for the last days. Now, back to
the question, what people are claiming to be Jews and are not?
Many read the above verse
and say, “Oh, it's referring to the Palestinians.” Hmm, I thought
their rivalry had to do with the land not an identity. But anyway,
Revelation 2:9 is food for thought at its best.
Another food for thought.
Many state that the Jews are back in their land as it was prophesied
in Jeremiah 31. But Jeremiah also states that they're will be
many tribes and that they'll be joy and the playing of tambourines,
vineyards will be planted on the hills of Samaria and much
celebrating will be going on... is this happening now?
What if, what if the
people of the Bible are not the so-called Jews of the day, but a
group of people that is hated by many? And then there's Deuteronomy
32:26, “I said I would scatter them into corners, I would make
the remembrance of them to cease from among men.” If the memory has
ceased from among men, it means nobody would know who the real Israel
is. Hence, they are NOT remembered by others, their identity has been
stripped. So, perhaps that is the underlying issue with the land,
perhaps the Palestinians deep down, know that the Jews over there now
are not the real Jews... food for thought.
There are so many verses
in the Bible that are food for thought, but I just want to mention
two more. Let's begin with Zechariah 8, this chapter is
prophecy yet to be fulfilled, verse 23 says, “Thus saith the LORD
of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall
take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold
of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, 'We will go with you: for
we have heard that God is with you.'”
It's interesting, the
last verse. The last verse lets you know that there is something that
differentiates the Jew from the other men. Now, if one is honest,
when someone tells you that they are a Jew, the Jews of the today,
what really sets them apart from your average Caucasian? There are
many verses in the Bible that clearly set Israel apart from the
others. The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), clearly knew that
Jesus was a Jew, before it was revealed to her that he was in fact
the prophet that was prophesied. There's something about the
appearance of the Jews that will not be mistaken by or for others...
food for thought.
The last verse I want to
briefly mention is Revelation 11:10, this is after the two
witnesses are killed, “And they that dwell upon the earth shall
rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to
another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the
earth.”
Now, these two witnesses
are preaching the Word around the world and they are killed for their
message. What is the message that is so troubling to the people on
earth that they rejoice at their demise? We know that they have the
power to stop the rain and send plagues to the cities, but why so
much power? Not to question God and his plan, but to ponder, why send
the plagues? Why send plagues to people over a message that many
Christians supposedly hear every Sunday or Saturday? A message that
many people have heard, even outside Christianity?
There are plenty of
people today that dislike Christianity, the message of Christianity,
but wouldn't we see a lot of Christians being killed today? There has
to be something different about this message that is so troubling, to
even so-called Christians, to make them angry as we see in Revelation
11:18? The question, What if the people of the Bible are your
African Americans? This question to ponder makes many quench in hate
and boils the blood of many so-called Christians.
We know that there is
racism throughout the world, but there is one race that is
particularly hated among many nations and that is the African
Americans. You hear a lot of pastors say, “Let's pray for the
Jewish people,” but what if their image of the Jewish people is
incorrect? What if the Jews of the Bible are the so-called African
Americans of today? And if that were true everything you've been told
about African Americans, and the Bible is a lie. And if that were to
be true, than Jesus would resemble the same race of people that many
dislike and even hate... food for thought.
Matthew 15:8, “This
people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with
their lips; but their heart if far from me.”
